Sharon Is One Month Old!

Our little puppy (Sharon) is growing. She is exactly one month old today. For about a week now, she has occasionally made funny sounds that I was told is her own initially attempt at barking. She has been a nice pet for the children and a very neat puppy. Every member of the family have come to respect her for indicating when she wants to defecate. The picture in this post was taken about a week ago. She looks stronger now. Being a cross-breed, I was told we will have so many surprises as per her temperament and lifestyle. Well, I think it's going to be a lot of fun.

Killed by Cell-Phone Battery Explosion !!!

I just read an article by CRAVE that reported how a man 33years old, was killed in Korea by Cell Phone battery explosion. The report stated that the man's ribs and spine were broken as a result of the explosion (what a violent way to die!). The man was having his cell phone in his breast pocket when the explosion occurred. You can read the full article here.
Sometime ago, I read a report that it is dangerous to keep cellphone in breast pocket because of the radiation they emit. I guess that danger is mild to that of explosion which results in instant death.
I guess it is a lesson to those of us (especially male folks) who puts cellphones in our breast pockets. Please, share this information with those you love. Cheers.

2 at a go!

I was surprised to receive 2 awards at a go for my blog. Ironically, I just finished writing a comment on another blog where I sincerely stated that I feel I'm too carefree about my blogging such that I most likely will not qualify for paid blogging. Well, someone somewhere feel I shouldn't quit bl0gging. I am quite encouraged.

Here is the first award:

And here is the second one:

A big thanks to MumsDadsChildren for the awards. I pray that the Lord will help me to improve on my ability to impact lives via blogging. Shalom

"What Would Jesus Say ... To Me?"

I have been tagged by Mulled Vine with this meme.
Even thought the question is simple, the answer is difficult. But I have to give it a try. So here it is:

What would Jesus say to me?

"Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey."

I hereby tag the following Life Magazine and Nuggets of Gold.

I've got a crucial Appointment

Her majesty called about an hour ago and reminded me that despite my workload in the office, I've got to be home on time. Who am I to disobey after reading the warnings of Sis. Dupe Olorunjo? Also, I remembered that the two Princesses at home have made a complaint that my being busy as a bee is no longer welcomed. I have to prioritize properly now less I end up being the answer to Mumsdadschildren questions of "who is to blame?"
If I venture make any excuse, I will be reminded of the solemn promise I made when casting vote in favour of a new addition to the family (Sharon).

Those Good Old Days..........

"In those good old days" is a statement I'm striving to remove completely from my speech. It simply shows how pessimistic one is. I feel it is also borne out of ingratitude to the Lord who daily lavishly showers His love on us. Sincerely speaking, a critical look at ones present state will show that it is far better than what it use to be (even if you are in the midst of a crisis). Yes, you would have learnt one valuable lesson or another.

As we add to our age each day, we tend to learn and understand better what life is all about than when we were younger. Some issues become clearer and we begin to rearrange our priorities.
However, the enemy often plays trick with our minds. We are tempted to fantasize with days that are past. We use our imagination to beautify them and remove the pains and sorrow associated with those days leaving only the pleasant memories. Then we declare proudly that those past days were "good old days" as if we wish like the Israelites to go back to Egypt.

I strongly belief that the devil is the one that wants us to keep referring to the past as being "good old days". If indeed they were good old days, then I am in better days and the best days are yet to come.

Beloved, irrespective of what you're passing through, consider the fact that He is faithful that has promised and He is able to bring it to come to pass. Get excited about today, because today is indeed better than yesterday. So far, today is indeed the best day of my life! Yes, you might not agree with me immediately, but ponder on it, then you will see that it is true.
Stay blessed.

BEAUTIFUL STORY OF DREAMS

A friend sent this to my box and I felt I should share it.

BEAUTIFUL STORY OF DREAMS

Sometimes we get what we need and not what we want..........

Once there were 3 trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the 1st tree said, "Someday, I hope to be a treasure chest.

I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems and be decorated with intricate carvings. Everyone would see my beauty."

The 2nd tree said, "Someday, I will be a mighty ship. I will take kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of other world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull."

Finally, the 3rd tree said, "I want to grow to be the tallest and straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill and look up to my branches, and think of the heavens and God and how close to them I am reaching.

I will be the greatest tree of all time, and people will always remember me."

After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees.

One came to the 1st tree and said, "This looks like a strong tree, I think I should be able to sell the wood to a carpenter," and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest.

At the 2nd tree, one of the other woodsmen said, "This looks like a strong tree. I should be able to sell it to the shipyard." The 2nd tree was happy, because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship.

When the woodsmen came upon the 3rd tree, the tree was frightened, because it knew that, if it is cut down, its dream would not come true. One of the woodsmen said, "I don't need anything special from my tree, so I'll take this one," and he cut it down.

When the 1st tree arrived at the carpenter's, he was made into a feed box for animals, placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was not at all what he had prayed for.

The 2nd tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end.

The 3rd tree was cut into large pieces and left alone in the dark.

The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams. Then one filtered day, a man and woman came to the barn. She gave birth, and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time.

Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose, and the tree didn't think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and he stood and said "Peace," and the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the King of Kings in its boat

Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets, and the crowd mocked the man who was carrying it. Finally, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as possible, because Jesus Christ had been crucified on it.

The moral of this story is that, when things don't seem to be going your way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in Him, He will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined.

We don't always know what God's plans are for us. We just know that His ways are not our ways, but His ways are always best.

Keep it moving...pass it on, so it could inspire more people.

Sometimes the heart sees what the eyes can't.

GOD BLESS . . .

N.B - Author of the story unknown, but I am truly blessed and I pray you'll be bless too.

Joke - Heavenly Rates

A man dies and goes to heaven. Of course, St. Peter meets him at the pearly gates. St. Peter says, "Here's how it works. You need 100 points to make it into heaven. You tell me all the good things you've done, and I give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was. When you reach 100 points, you get in."
"Okay," the man says, "I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart."
"That's wonderful," says St. Peter, "that's worth three points!"
"Three points?" he says. "Well, I attended church all my life and supported its ministry with my tithe and service."
"Terrific!" says St. Peter, "that's certainly worth a point."
"One point? Golly. How about this: I started a soup kitchen in my city and worked in a shelter for homeless veterans."
"Fantastic, that's good for two more points," he says.
"TWO POINTS!!" the man cries, "At this rate the only way I get into heaven is by the grace of God!"
"Come on in!"

Lesson: The Grace of God is the TICKET!

We've got a puppy!

A friend gave us a puppy that is about a week old yesterday. The kids and I were so excited about the puppy even though the Lady of the house was of the opinion that we were not ready for such additional responbility. To be frank she is right. Those of us that are excited about owning the puppy are the most ignorant pet owners you can ever think of.
That we are having the puppy at such age is due to the fact that the dog that gave birth to the puppy died by accident. So my friend had to give out the puppies at such a tender age when they needed their mother most.
Well, God in His mercy provided the kids and I a brother who has nursed puppies before. So we are learning with excitement, while the lady of the house is issuing warnings that we better get ready for the herculean project we have embark upon with her "permissive will". Of course I can't blame her. Those of us that are excited rarely stay at home. Two of us go to school and only returns in the afternoon, while I am known for getting home late in the evenings. So invariably we are just adding to the work of the home-manager.
Well, we have made a solemn promise to take care of the puppy. I for one have to get some quick tutorial online on how to care for a puppy.

Quiet Saturday !

As at close of work yesterday, I was expecting a busy and energy sapping Saturday. Whao, it turned out to be the opposite. The day started alright with busy activities. I had to leave home earlier than usual but as at 8:00a.m, the herculean task that kept everyone on their toes the whole of yesterday was already completed.
It was with a clear conscience that I took permission to go out of the office and attend to a personal assignment for 2hours.
I came back to the office and we are just two left in the building. The whole place is quiet and peaceful. PHCN added to the whole tranquility by rendering the diesel generator redundant. It is a quiet Saturday. News from colleagues outside the office are pleasant and positive. Father, I give you praise. Thanks for making this weekend a quiet one. I am gathering momentum for tomorrow fellowhip. Somebody has good reasons to shout a big Halleluyah!!!

Indeed a step of faith is all it takes

It is as if I just registered yesterday. But praise God the course is completed. When I look back and remember that I almost procrastinate. I wanted to give the usual excuse of not finding time to do the course. The Lord helped me. Now I've written the final exam despite all the busy schedule. On several occasions, I couldn't figure out how I will manage to go out of the office when there is so much to do. Father I am grateful for seeing me through. I've learnt a big lesson. A step of faith is all it takes to accomplish a worthwhile goal.
May the Lord bless my pastors and elders who encouraged me to put in for the SOD course. I am a better Christian now than I used to be. May the Lord help me to be a true disciple indeed.

Busy as a bee!

This week will go down as the most busy in the history of the existence of my current place of work. From the begining of the week. Everyone have been so busy that none could even afford to take the official lunch period.
Well not that I am complaining, because we are busy producing result. It is more of a testimony that the Lord God Almighty has smiled on us at a time when many of our competitors are lamenting that there are no jobs.
It took a lot of determination to put in this little writeup. Too many tasks begging for attention. We give God praise for His tender mercies.
Let the living shout a big Halleluyah!!!!!

Family Life - True test of a man!

“There is a great deal in the way in which a man walks in his house. It will not do to be a saint abroad and a devil at home!
There are some of that kind. They are wonderfully sweet at a Prayer Meeting, but they are dreadfully sour to their wives and
children. This will never do! Every genuine Believer should say, and mean it, ‘I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.’
It is in the home that we get the truest proof of godliness. ‘What sort of a man is he?’ said one to George Whitefield, and
Whitefield answered, ‘I cannot say, for I never lived with him.’ That is the way to test a man—to live with him.”—1894, Sermon #2362 Charles H. Spurgeon

It is quite easy to "act" nice at the workplace. Show courtesy to strangers and act pious in the gathering of believers, but truly, the true nature of a man is revealed at home. The way he treats the wife and children reveals how much of Christ has been formed in Him.

May the Lord help us to be true disciples of Christ in deed, not just in words (confessions).

The Fight Against Child Abuse: A Tribute To The Late Nurin Jazlin (1999 to 2007)

Post from NAFASG

In our times of darkness, children are the ones who will brighten us up. No matter what ordeals we have to endure in our daily lives, we know that we can overcome them the moment we set eyes on children. Their innocence and purity in them will always give us a sense of peacefulness and calm that is beyond words. And it goes without saying that life would be meaningless without seeing them smile, hearing them laugh and cry, and feeling their small and flawlessly gentle hands that want to reach out to us.

Yet, there are some who show no empathy and sensitivity towards these beautiful souls. Worse still, they would dunk themselves into physical violence and cruelty towards the children without even thinking twice. Such acts can deem someone to be worse than an animal, because even an animal has compassion and love for its young.

What is going on with this world? Why must such horrid acts be carried out? Why do these people ever exist in this world?

Please take this time to read this special message from us, and show your utmost support and sympathy towards the family of the late Nurin Jazlin, who passed away tragically and brutally at the age of only eight. Little Nurin Jazlin’s body was discovered in a gym bag on 17th September, one month after she was abducted. Upon the discovery, she was seen to be in the most horrifying state ever. Her hair was short and curled up, when it was originally straight and long. Her body was pale and badly bruised from head to toe, and there were traces of foreign objects like brinjal and cucumber found in the virginal area of her body.

Parents of the deceased took a long time to acknowledge her death, but eventually did after all the thorough DNA tests had been carried out by the forensics department. Her body was finally buried on 21st September. Her father, Jazimin Abdul Jalil, had expressed his sorrow towards this tragedy, stating that whoever who caused her death was not a human being, but rather, an animal.

This was the result of an outrage of modesty (See Picture On The Right) caused by a man of age between 35 and 40, who was thought to be someone who enjoyed torturing people, particularly children. Along with him was a 23-year-old lady, who was apparently his partner in crime. The lady had been found and called for questioning by the Malaysian authorities, whereas the man has yet to be found. Hence, we are urging all of you here to play your part in finding this serial killer cum sexual offender and ensuring that justice is served to the deceased and her family.

If you know of the culprits’ whereabouts, keep us informed immediately, or directly inform her uncle, Jasni Abdul Jalil, via his blog, which he had specially created as a form of dedication to her.

Over the years, we have heard of children’s lives being taken away due to the evil doings of heartless adults. Nurin’s death was one of the most gruesome and tragic deaths that made many of us shocked, despaired and furious. Do you want more children to die in the hands of these sadistic people? Do you still wish to hear such saddening news of child abuse? Then let us do our part right away! Together we can make this world a better place for the little ones. Let us all join hand in hand and put a stop to such cruelty towards them once and for all! Fight against child abuse today. We have created a logo to show our support towards the fight against child abuse. If you would like to join in this movement, please copy and paste this article in your site and place the logo. After displaying this article, leave us a comment and we will add your link in our list of bloggers who have voluntarily helped us in this movement.

Bloggers Unite Against Child Abuse

The Three Things I can't let go of!

This is my first time of getting tagged. I got tagged by MumsDadsChildren. I can say we share some views about life.

Firstly, I can't let go of my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, without whom my life won't just be full of CRISES, I would have been a "roasted suya" for the enemy long ago. I am a nobody whom Jesus just decided to make a ROYAL PRIEST.

Secondly, I can never ever let go of my family. My spouse is not just a wife, but a friend and the Lord has blessed us with beautiful children. Whenever I look at them, I ask myself, you mean God gave naughty me this rare gems.

Thirdly, I don't think I can ever let go of my zest for life. I am excited about life. I am passionate about living a life that contributes to the wellbeing of others. I don't want to just exist like Methusaler. I desire to make impacts in life. I desire to leave a legacy behind. I am passionate about making this earth a better place for all.

Sister Bola,
thanks for tagging me, watch out for this great bloggers who I believe also have some things they can't let go of.

Remote Access To my Desktop!

I came across an interesting service on the web. It is called LogMeIn. After downloading a piece of software less than 9mb in size. You will be able to control your PC via internet from anywhere in the world. It sounded interesting to me. So I registered at the site and downloaded the software. After everything, I went to a friends pc and bravo it works. I was able to log on to my desktop pc and I was able to access my files and documents as if I was sitting right in front of my desktop.
I guess this service can come in handy when one is away from the office and you need to quickly get some details from your desktop. This is not an advertisement, just recommendation from an excited user of the free service (some of the packages are commercial).
