Revised Evolution!

I guess after trying unsuccessfully to proof that man originated from ape. Now the confused people want to proof this concept by using "legal suit"
I came across this ridiculous article and I felt I have to comment on it.

Court won't declare chimp a person
VIENNA, Austria - He's now got a human name — Matthew Hiasl Pan — but he's having trouble getting his day in court. Animal rights activists campaigning to get Pan, a 26-year-old chimpanzee, legally declared a person vowed Thursday to take their challenge to Austria's Supreme Court after a lower court threw out their latest appeal. You can read the rest of the article here.

The Secret

One day, one friend asked another,

"How is it that you are always so happy?

You have so much energy,

and you never seem to get down."

With her eyes smiling, she said,

"I know the Secret!"

"What secret is that?"

To which she replied,

"I'll tell you all about it,

but you have to promise to

share the Secret with others."

"The Secret is this:

I have learned there is little I can do

in my life that will make me truly happy.

I must depend on God to make

me happy and to meet my needs.

When a need arises in my life,

I have to trust God to supply

according to HIS riches.

I have learned most of the time

I don't need half of what I think I do.

He has never let me down.

Since I learned that 'Secret', I am happy."

The questioner's first thought was,

"That's too simple!"

But upon reflecting over her own life

she recalled how she thought a bigger house

would make her happy, but it didn't!

She thought a better paying job

would make her happy, but it hadn't.

When did she realize her greatest happiness?

Sitting on the floor with her grandchildren,

playing games, eating pizza or reading a story,

a simple gift from God.

Now you know it too!

We can't depend on people to make us happy.

Only GOD in His infinite wisdom can do that.

Trust HIM!

And now I pass the Secret on to you!

So once you get it, what will you do?

YOU have to tell someone the Secret, too!

That GOD in His wisdom will take care of YOU!

But it's not really a secret...

We just have to believe it and do it...

Really trust God!

I got this from a friend (Ify) I felt I should share it with you.

Misplaced Priority!

There is a story of a young man who proposed marriage to a young woman. He gave her an expensive, beautiful diamond ring enclosed in an attractive blue velvet box. The following day after their engagement, the young woman said, "How can I ever thank you enough for the beautiful blue velvet box? I love it and will always cherish it!" How do you think her beloved felt?
A ludicrous story? Yes, except that it aptly illustrates the care and attention we humans give in this life to our body and physical well beings-which is like the blue velvet box. We spend about 99 percent of our resources and time on something that will return to dust. And we neglect the gift of the diamond, which is our living, eternal soul. We fail to thank God for such a priceless gift, purchased for us by the death of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Beloved let's appreciate the content rather than the container!

Two Little Words !

A doctor wrote a letter of thanks to a schoolteacher for having given him so much encouragement when he had been in her class 30 years before. He later received this reply: "I want you to know what your note meant to me. I am an old lady in my eighties, living alone in a small room, cooking my own meals, lonely, and seeming like the last leaf on the tree. You will be interested to know that I taught school for 50 years, and yours is the first letter of appreciation I have ever received. It came on a cold, blue morning and cheered my lonely old heart as nothing has cheered me in many years."

I want to quickly thank you for dropping by. Thanks for taking time to read through this article. If you can spare just 2 more minutes, I will like you to do me a favor. I want you to help me tell a Christian sister that her work is very much appreciated. Your compliment won't be based on my testimony but your first hand experience. Just check out some of her inspirational articles (click here) and you will be convinced that I am truthful with my evaluation. Please, don't just read her article, take a minute to drop a note (comment) that she is doing a great job and she should not relent. May the Lord bless you as you do this. Thanks in advance. Shalom.

Pleasure in His presence - A memorable weekend

The joy of being a Christian is indescribable. It is better experienced than told. I was almost getting upset because I had to stay back in the office for extra hours on Saturday. However, I thank God that His grace prevented me from falling into the trap of murmuring and complaining.

When I eventually closed from the office, I was glad that I had endured the extra hours and fulfill my obligation as a true child of God. I got to church late and the brethren have already started the meeting we have that evening. However, I didn't miss much and I was delighted to be part of the meeting.

Immediately after the meeting, I receive news that my company has just won a job we quoted for. Out of the five companies that quoted, we were singled out despite the fact that our competitors were older in the business and better equipped. When I got the SMS message, I screamed and jumped like a child. I was too excited to note that I was outside in the open and passer-by may wonder what the matter is with me.

I couldn't contain the joy. I had to share with someone, so I called my boss and congratulated him. When I got home, I was so happy to share the good news with my wife.

Sunday service was a time to remember. From the workers prayer meeting till we shared the grace, it was bliss in the presence of the Ancient of Days. So that was how the weekend I thought was going to be a wreak turned out to be a memorable one.

Oh taste and see that the Lord is Good!!!

I want to go home!

I'm stuck in the office! I never planned to start my weekend this late. There is no guarantee that I will close in the next one hour. And it is 3:06p.m already. Am I complaining, hmmnnn not really. But office is getting bored now. Not even the internet can keep me company when others are long gone to their homes and I am stuck with people who due to their improper planning are forcing me to stay extra hours in the office.
But then I am grateful I have a good job. And an interesting one too. Just that I am looking forward to one hour rest before heading for a meeting with the brethren. I guess I will have to go straight when I finally escape from office.

He fired me 'cos he was jealous!

Two friends were talking about recent events in their lives.
One asked the other "So Jack, why did your boss fire you?"
Jack replied, "Cos he was jealous!"
Bill, "That sounds weird. How can your boss be jealous of you?"
Jack answered, "Well you know how a supervisor is always standing around and watching others do the work. My supervisor got jealous. People have been making the mistake of assuming that I am the supervisor. He couldn't stand that!"

SPEAK UP! - Nigeria Project

INDEPENDENCE SPECIAL

I came in contact with a passionate Nigerian blogger Nigerian Curiosity. After reading some of the articles I was definitely impressed.

Now the main gist is the fact that the blogger in conjunction with some other Nigerians are organizing a SPEAK OUT project to commemorate the Nigerian independent on 1st October, 2007.

I feel every Nigerian blogger should participate. Not because there is a prize to be won (a Nano iPod) but because it is our own contribution to the growth of our nation. Evil thrives when the righteous keep silent. Get more information at Nigerian Light House

Joke - GP Doors Operating System

Grandpa - Hey Arthur, why are you looking upset?

Arthur - While trying to log in my Window just crashed!

Grandpa - When did you start logging business (Wood Business)? I thought you are working for An Advertisement Company?

Arthur - No grandpa! I am not into logging. What I mean by LOG IN is gaining entrance to my working machine.

Grandpa - Okay, now I understand. But then why go through WINDOW when the DOOR is there?

Arthur - Grandpa, you don't understand, WINDOW is an operating system that grants access to my working machine. There are others like Linux, OS2, Mac....but I prefer WINDOWS
Grandpa - Boy, if you refuse to use the DOOR and prefer WINDOW, then expect crashes and bruises. In my 92 years of existence, I've always prefer DOORS to WINDOWS.

I feel Honored!

Jesus had no servants, yet they called Him Master.

Had no degree, yet they called Him Teacher.

Had no medicines, yet they called Him Healer.

He had no army, yet kings feared Him.

He won no military battles, yet He conquered the world.

He committed no crime, yet they crucified Him.

He was buried in a tomb, yet He lives today.

I feel honored to serve such a Leader who loves us!

7 dont's after a meal!

I got this from my big sister via email and I felt I should share it. Enjoy

7 dont's after a meal!
  • Don't smoke-Experiment from experts proves that smoking a cigarette after meal is comparable to smoking 10 cigarettes (chances of cancer is higher).
  • Don't eat fruits immediately - Immediately eating fruits after meals will cause stomach to be bloated with air. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr after meal or 1hr before meal.
  • Don't drink tea - Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest.
  • Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted &blocked.
  • Don't bathe - Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach.
  • Don't walk about - People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake
  • Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine.

Atempting to Pimp my Nokia 3230

Hmnnnnn for over 48hours now, I have been searching for a tip on how I can make my Nokia 3230 display custom Operator's Logo instead of the boring one that is supplied by my SIM card.
So far I have succeeded in removing the boring one.
But I am not satisfied with the replacement because it has a white background which is in sharp constract with the theme being display.
Just having fun I must say. Some things are not as simple as they seem.
Enjoy.

She must not resurrect!!!

A man and his ever-nagging wife went on vacation to Jerusalem. While they were there, the wife passed away. The undertaker told the husband, "You can have her shipped home for $5,000,or you can bury her here, in the Holy Land, for $150." The man thought about it and told him he would just have her shipped home. The undertaker asked, "Why would you spend $5,000 to ship your wife home, when it would be wonderful to be buried here and you would spend only $150?" The man replied, "Long ago a man died here, was buried here, and three days later he rose from the dead. I just can't take that chance."

Phone Guardian - Free Security for Your Phone 24/7

Have you invested your hard earned money in a mobile-phone and you are worried about loosing same to petty thieves, well there is a solution and it is free.
I came across this anti-theft phone software. It is simply a great software.

GUARDIAN 2.1

Guardian is the new anti-theft system for Symbian Series 60 devices. Every time you switch on your mobile telephone, Guardian proceeds with authentication of the inserted SIM card; if authentication fails, Guardian send a notification SMS message to a previously set telephone number (e.g. a friend or family member).

The beauty of the software is that all the sms sent / received by Guardian will not be known in anyway by the thief. It will all be done in a discreet way, no icons, no lights, no sounds, no vibration, nothing visibile in inbox/sent/outbox messages folder, and of course, no traces left in logs. All these features are provided for free.

However, for a little token, you can add extra features such as remote control functions, i.e. deleting your photographs/phone book/text messages/video/audio data in case of loss or theft of your mobile phone.

Download Guardian 2.1 English Version

Note: The software uses the Symbian operating system. For more information and version in other languages check here.

IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY

I got this nice one via email, enjoy!

F A M I L Y

I ran into a stranger as he passed by, 'Oh excuse me please' was my reply. He said, 'Please excuse me too; I wasn't watching for you.' We were very polite, this stranger and I. We went on our way and we said goodbye.

But at home a different story is told, How we treat our loved ones, young and old.

Later that day, cooking the evening meal, My son stood beside me very still. When I turned, I nearly knocked him down. 'Move out of the way,' I said with a frown. He walked away, his little heart broken. I didn't realize how harshly I'd spoken. While I lay awake in bed, God's still small voice came to me and said, ' While dealing with a stranger, common courtesy you use, but the family you love, you seem to abuse. Go and look on the kitchen floor, You'll find some flowers there by the door. Those are the flowers he brought for you. He picked them himself: pink, yellow and blue. He stood very quietly not to spoil the surprise, you never saw the tears that filled his little eyes.'

By this time, I felt very small, And now my tears began to fall. I quietly went and knelt by his bed; 'Wake up, little one, wake up,' I said. 'Are these the flowers you picked for me?' He smiled, 'I found 'em, out by the tree. I picked 'em because they're pretty like you. I knew you'd like 'em, especially the blue.' I said, 'Son, I'm very sorry for the way I acted today; I shouldn't have yelled at you that way.'

He said, 'Oh, Mom, that's okay. I love you anyway.' I said, 'Son, I love you too, and I do like the flowers, especially the blue.'

FAMILY
Are you aware that if we died tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family we left behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than into our own family, an unwise investment indeed, don't you think?

So what is behind the story?
Do you know what the word FAMILY means?

FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU

How to manage "the new spam" (Time Management)

Social networking sites allow people to connect and share interests online. The site that Canadians know best is Facebook, the number one social networking site in Canada. While it is exciting that websites can bring anyone together, from Star Trek fans to dog lovers to friendly people, the truth is that all of the messages you get in your in-box can quickly start to seem like spam (not just the invites, but also the messages from others in the same networks).

Here are some tips to keep your networking under control:

1. Manage your personal settings within your social network - depending on the site, there are settings under your profile that allow you to control notifications. This means that you can decide if you want to get emails every time someone requests you as a friend, etc.

2. Use a dummy email account for all social networks - don't use your work email account for your social life. If you plan to sign up for a social network, select a separate email account (such as Yahoo mail or Gmail) that will allow you to separate the social side of your online messages.

3. Just say no - if your friends are bombarding you with messages, delete them. Although most social networks can be a lot of fun, it's also very easy to waste time online on networks that you really don't need in your life.

An interesting article from City News.

Computer Games at Work

Does you boss play computer game? I read an article about this in City News. In the article, research study conducted showed that a lot of executives play computer games behind their corporate doors and they admitted that if they were to catch a subordinate playing game during official hours they won't consider it a ground for dismissal.

Can that be the case in Naija? I doubt. It will be quick dismissal. The boss is always right. So that you caught him playing computer game on his laptop is no excuse for doing same on your desktop ;-) You're warned.

From Nairaland - Yaradua to rule for 15years!!!

I came across this funny article, I felt I should share with you.

Re: Yaradua to rule for 15years!!!

If Nigerians are pessimistic, Who is to blame? The politician of course. They blab about how they will make Nigeria better than New York if they come to power. But alas, they cannot deliver in simple basic infrastructures and amenities.
How can someone be talking about planning for 15years when they cannot even successfully plan for 12months.

I beg all of them should stop imagining that the citizens are gullible. We are not.

After 100 days in office, they are yet to lay down a plan on how to solve the problem of electricity. All that OBJ administration achieved in that sector is constant naming ceremony for the inefficient government's electric power authority. N.E.P.A, N.E.P Plc, PHCN very soon we will read about another naming ceremony for the organisation.
Let the Federal Government tell us, what its plan is for the remaining part of 2007. Then they can give us their plan for the year 2008. That is the way it is done in well organized society.

Talking about 2020 while the legislators are busy debating on how much their "speaker" is supposed to use for renovation is simply not convincing.

How can we be talking about 2020 when the ordinary citizens are dying because of deadly pot-holes on our Federal roads. For eight years, the last administration was planning on how they will dualize the Benin - Lagos road. So many lives and goods have been lost and yet, nothing is achieved. Now we are being told of paradise come 2020.

" I beg, let's talk about something much more serious" "Na person wey dey alive go see 2020" " No be person wey in whole family don pafuka say because of in put I pass my neighbour inside room dose off" (Too many Nigerians have died from fumes from generator).

You can read the rest of the article here.

Suffering and Shivering ! - Dividends of Democracy !

For about 3days now in Portharcourt, the civil servants, public servants and self-employed have been enjoying what I termed "Suffering and Shivering".

The rain has been pouring continuously and the weather is terribly cold. Unfortunately, it is as if the rain has chosen the critical hours in the day of a worker to fall. In the morning, it falls seriously between 5a.m and 7a.m thereby making life difficult for those going to work. When you add the rain plus bad roads and traffic jam, then you will understand what it means to be SUFFERING AND SHIVERING.

Many workers in the bid to beat the traffic and make it to their workplace on time, use Okada Transportation (motorcycle). So I see people on Okada, getting soaked in the rain while the cyclist is struggling to navigate traffic jam caused by pot holes.

If you want to watch this drama, just find your way down to Rumuodara junction, the situation is not funny, but it is a scene to behold.
The same senario repeats itself in the evening. Once it is 5p.m many of the junctions in Portharcourt becomes no go area. Vehicles are forced to slow down because of potholes and bumps (Port-Harcourts legacy of "dividends of Democracy"), impatient drivers try to use oncoming vehicle's lane to hurriedly overtake vehicles in their front and before you know it, a chaotic situation whereby no movement is possible is created. Then the rain comes in to baptise every one. The traffic wardens run for cover and it is time for SUFFERING AND SHIVERING - part 2.
